Anthony Watson scored a brace of tries for Bath yesterday as they took a well fought win against French giants Toulon. Bath came out the blocks fighting and took an early try with great work from Brew to setup a first score of the game.
Watson helped seal the deal when he first spotted a gap coming back against the Toulon defence and shot through to finish. His second was just pure pace and a tiring Toulon edge of defence that could simply not deal with the space they had left, Watson described it as an under 11’s try and that about sums it up.
This leaves Bath in control of their own destiny going into the last 2 games with a 13 point haul so far. They are now level on points with Toulon.
Bath now have a home game with Scarlets and an away day in Italy against Benetton to go, they should be expecting 2 wins out of this so a points target on 22 should be achievable for them. They will have a battle on there hands with Toulon though to finish top of the table, it could come down to a single point for that group win.
